Pro-Diver has been taking people diving for over 25 years providing premier ocean experiences for thousands, one diver at a time. Entering the next quarter century, Yonegan Pro-Diver is proud to offer single and multi-tank dives, snorkel tours, mixed boats tours for snorkelers and divers, reef rescues, whale watching, private charters, PADI certified and specialty educational classes, and ceremonial cruises honoring the newly married and the recently departed.
We take a maximum of twelve divers, no more than seven divers per group. This means that we can really spend time with each individual client. Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable, conscientious and excited to take clients diving.
Yonegan Pro-Diver Maui is known for our tours of the world-famous Molokini crater, weather permitting, of course. This protected marine preserve is just a short 20-25 minute boat ride from Kihei boat ramp. Molokini Crater boasts crystal clear visibility year-round with a chance of premium encounters with Manta and Eagle Rays, White-Tip Sharks, Barracuda, Humpback Whales and the rare visit of migrating protected Monk Seals. This in addition to a veritable aquarium of sea life of parrot fish, butterfly fish, eels of all stripes, lobster and a bounty of colorful nudibranchs.
Beyond the crater, our two dive boats travel the South Maui Coastline offering daily trips various “Turtle Towns” at Makena Landing, Red Hill and Wailea Point. Past stops have included reef formations, shark and bubble caves, underwater arches, plus military and naval wrecks. The captain of the day will choose the dive sites based on conditions in consultation with our guests’ experience levels and enthusiasm. Special requests welcomed and encouraged. For those of you questing with us for multiple days, we offer plenty of different sites to choose from, enabling us to put you on a different dive site every day!
For the advanced divers looking for something more challenging and exotic, we provide weekly 3-tank dives that go both deep and long. Past dives have included the St. Anthony Wreck, the “Three Anchors”, the “Wasteland” pinnacles at 85 feet and 110 feet and a Back Wall Drift dive. See our advanced section for requirements.
Are you looking to get certified? We have friendly, knowledgeable PADI Instructors on staff ready to help you get to the next level, whether you are wanting to try scuba for the first time or become a Dive Master; we can help!
In the spirit of Hawaiian Pono and as careful and grateful stewards of the waterways, semi-annually we offer Reef Rescue dives where we dedicate a boat to cleaning the reef of waste, lures and cast off items endangering the health and sustainability of the reef. Since 2018 our all-volunteer teams have cleared over two tons of waste from our precious reef ecosystem. We always appreciate everyone’s positive comments on our pictures and videos and welcome an active presence on social media.
Enjoy the options of booking online, or feel free to give us a call at 1-808-875-4004.
We look forward to seeing you all on, as well as under, the water.

Originally hailing from Lyndeborough, New Hampshire transplanted to Haiku in Maui, the steady, confident, knowledgeable and gregarious, CAPTAIN JONATHAN LATA became Yonegan’s first full-time captain of The Getaway in Starting February of 2021. In that time, he’s navigated her across most of South Maui delivering one-of-a-kind experiences to visitors and locals alike. Additionally, he’s helped lead the Maui Reef Rescue charity hauling over a ton of sunken lead, fishing lines, traps and other discarded materials from the floor of the South Maui Coast during its maiden run in the spring of ’21. Selected as part of the US Freediving team representing the US in Sardinia in 2014, Jonathan’s passion for the water expresses itself in his every decision and choice of destination. In addition to his labor-of-love/time-served aboard The Getaway, Jonathan is an avid fisherman, hunter, proud family man and new first-time home owner!
After a long career in law enforcement, Capt. Mark Coleman moved to Maui five years ago to enjoy his love of the ocean. He is a US Coast Guard-certified boat captain with more than 40 years operating vessels both commercially and recreationally. He also is a PADI open water scuba instructor, who got his own certification at age 15 and spent 22 years leading the Sheriff's department dive team in the Florida Keys. Capt. Mark loves his office window views of Molokini Crater, jumping dolphins, breaching whales and beautiful blue water with mountain backdrops. But his favorite part of the job with Prodiver is interacting with the customers, and hearing about their adventures from around the world.
Aloha! I got certified when I was 14 and have been diving on Maui for the past 5 years. As a PADI divemaster, I love taking people underwater for the first time on discover scuba dives. My favorite animals to see are octopus, and anything big! In addition to working for Prodiver, I have my own media company that focuses on Video production above and below the water.
Benjamin Iglesis Buchanon, known to his friends around the world as “Benja” (Ben-Ha), combines and expresses his two greatest loves, diving and photography, as our Chief of Operations and Lead Dive Master. His career has logged over 6000 dives, brought him to every ocean and every continent including both polar circles. PADI certified at the highest level, Benja is also a certified First Responder. SCUBA instructor, Jessica Ruhlman boasts a background in Conservation Biology with over five years of experience working on dive boats, snorkel tours, and sunset sails. Whether guiding certified divers or first-timers, she bring a focus on safety, fun, and deep respect for the ocean. She loves most welcoming new divers into this wild, colorful world below the surface—especially those who never thought they’d try it. Teaching scuba presents a way to connect, to share, and to remind people how amazing our planet really is. Plus, no matter how well I know the reef, I’m still unreasonably thrilled by nudibranchs and puffers with personality. That kind of curiosity is what keeps every dive fresh and magical.
Award-winning, former screenwriter and Hollywood refugee, Michael Feit Dougan, fell in love with diving when researching a naval passion project that remains (for the moment) unrealized. Upon moving to Maui, he founded the Yonegan Getaways family of companies dedicated to making Hawaii dreams economical, accessible and enjoyable for all. His deep abiding romance with the Big Blue, and all creatures within it, moved him to open first one dive company, and then expand by acquiring Pro-Diver. His dedication to and passion for the Islands is expressed by his frequent and regular on board visits as well as coordinating twice yearly “Reef Rescues” partnered with the Ocean Defenders Alliance and spearheaded by Lloyd Johnson. This charity cruise sees volunteers remove waste and refuse from the off-shore South Maui coastline leaving things better off for future generations nurturing maritime dreams.
