Programmed Courses:

  • PADI’s Underwater Navigation course focuses on improving existing navigation skills from Open Water adding additional techniques like distance estimation and using natural clues.  It further fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass.
  • PADI’s Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Excellent buoyancy provides guidance to divers looking to glide more effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. It builds on the skills first learned as an Open Water diver, elevating them to the next level.

Electives:

  • The PADI Deep Diver specialty course allows divers to safely explore deeper waters beyond the 18-meter/60-foot limit of the Open Water Diver qualification and the 30-meter/100-foot limit of the Advanced Open Water Diver course. This course focuses on teaching divers how to manage the increased risks and challenges of deep diving, including narcosis, air consumption and navigation.
  • Fish Identification provides divers with the skills to identify families and species through physical markings such as body and mouth shape, fin position, and color markings.  This course also demonstrates how to conduct fish surveys to determine the fish population and density at a dive site.  This is a must for divers looking to  volunteer for non-profit organizations or citizen science programs.
  • The PADI Shark Conservation course explains the value of sharks to marine ecosystems and economies. You’ll learn more about the causes of declining shark populations and the actions you can take to become a knowledgeable and passionate shark defender. By being informed, you can dispel misconceptions and act to protect sharks. Sharks need you!
  • The PADI Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course educates divers and non-divers about the importance of coral reefs, their current state, and how individuals can help protect them. The course covers topics like coral reef biology, the impact of human activities, and responsible diving and snorkeling practices. It also counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
  • The PADI Underwater Naturalist specialty introduces students to the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths, The role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator/prey relationships and how to interact responsibly with aquatic life.  Two open water dives will help you apply the course information to a real-world diving situation. As you look around, behavior you might have ignored before becomes a fascinating show of the interplay between species – a little like diving into your very own nature documentary.
  • The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course is designed to teach divers how to capture stunning underwater images and videos using digital cameras and other underwater photography equipment. It covers various techniques, including equipment mastery, planning, organization, composition, and editing, to help divers improve their underwater photography skills.
  • The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) or Scooter Specialty course teaches divers how to use and maintain underwater scooters (DPVs) safely and effectively. The course covers topics like DPV types, care and maintenance, dive planning with a DPV, and handling potential problems. It also includes practical dives where you’ll learn how to operate a scooter and stay with your buddy.

*There will be a $150.00 additional scooter rental charge if you choose scooters for one of your dives but it will open up a whole new world of diving! Give us a call for more details.
