What you learn

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
  • Knowledge Development (online ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving. Must be completed by 1st day of dive.
  • Practical Shore Dive Experience to apply your book learning to an ocean entry from Beach to water and back again.  For those preferring to do your Confined Water Dive in our warm tropical Maui shoreline in pool like conditions, as opposed to your local pool, this option is available and can be combined with part one of your Open Water lessons.
  • Practical Boat Dive Experience.  This is what its all about:  applying your e-lessons to dive from a boat enabling lifelong deeper dives and offering as many locations as your imagination and passport can contain.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must:
  • Be at least 10 years old.
  • Read the medical questions before you arrive. Any “yes” answers will require a physician’s release before we can take you in the water. Give us a call with any questions!
  • Completion of the PADI e-Learning course

Confined/Shallow Water Option

This mini-dive is part of the PADI requirements connected to the e-Learning process.  Most students elect to take this portion that reviews basic dive skills on the mainland.  It can be offered while on Maui for an additional $99.00 and added when necessary as part of part 1’s shore dive day.
