With its diverse ecosystems, abundant marine biodiversity and inviting water temps averaging between 78 – 82 degrees year round, Hawaii is home to some of the best snorkeling in the world, with Maui offering some of the best of spots of all Hawaii ranging from shallow reefs to vibrant coral gardens and volcanic rock formations. Considered a must-see for any snorkeler visiting Maui, our two-site snorkel adventure features the world famous Molokini crater where you can get close up to deeper water critters than any shore dive can provide. This protected marine preserve is just a short 20-25 minute boat ride from Kihei boat ramp – weather permitting. Molokini Crater boasts crystal clear visibility year-round with a chance of premium encounters with Manta and Eagle Rays, White-Tip Sharks, Barracuda, Humpback Whales and the rare visit of migrating protected Monk Seals. This in addition to a veritable aquarium of sea life of parrot fish, butterfly fish, eels of all stripes, lobster and a bounty of colorful nudibranchs.

After your Molokini Crater visit, we’ll “check-in” to one of our many “Turtle Towns”, where you can encounter our Green Sea Turtles (Honu in Hawaiian) in the wild along with the many tropical fish enjoying the protection of several reef formations in the Makena Landing Bay.

There is no swimming requirement, though experience in the water is preferred. For the safety and comfort of our first-timers, we offer optional buoyancy belts, life jackets and swimming noodles. Then there are our complimentary masks and fins for everyone. The cruise comes with free snacks, water and juices, along with a fresh-cut pineapple.

We meet at the foot of the Kihei Boat Ramp, nearest to the street entry. Just look for the big blue boats. Sign-in starts at 6:15 am, with our return to the landing around 10:00 am. Feel free to book online or give us a call at 1-808-875-4004.

Dive Sites

RED HILL

This drift dive begins near one of Maui’s only Black Sand Beaches on the South Side of the island and usually ends right in front of Maui’s famous Big Beach in Wailea. Red Hill seems to attract all kinds of Rays, including the very elusive Hawaiian StingRay. This site is one of the few nesting sites for our rare Hawksbill Turtles. You might even get a glimpse of the Clumpy Nudibranch. This is also the home for some of our rare Eels such as the Dragon Eel and the Henshaw Eel. This site sometimes has a nice little current where if the conditions are right you can enter the water and drift about easily, and be picked up at the end of the dive!

WAilea Point

We might as well call this dive site ‘Manta Point’ because of how often we see our graceful Coastal Mantas here. Wailea Point dive site is located right off of the Wailea Marriott, Grand Wailea Hotel, and Four Seasons Wailea, and is only 5 minutes away from Kihei Boat Ramp. Wailea Point offers a bed of sprawling healthy coral with an abundance of Hawaiian Day Octopus and a variety of Nudibranchs such as the rare Kangaroo Nudibranch. This is a shallower dive site great for beginners as well as advanced divers. This spot seems to be a favorite of the younger Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.

WHite Rock

White Rock is the perfect site for those interested in macro photography. Located roughly 10 minutes from Kihei Boat Ramp, it offers a more shallow dive. With all the nooks and crannies, the coral offers plenty of space for a variety of nudibranchs, crabs and invertebrates. There are two different arches where you have a good chance of seeing Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, as well.
